The college Logo and its Significance

The shield, which is gothic in shape, in divided into three parts. The first and most important part is a gold heart, pierced and surmounted by a cross andflamesradiating light. The central position is filled by a gold band on which are drawn three red roses. The third and the lower part bears a golden lily surmounted by twelve stars in gold. The background of the shield is red. Underneath is the gothic band with the motto: Cor Unum Anima Una.

The top and most important part of the shield is the heart, which symbolizes the Sacred Heart of Jesus, surmounted by a Cross with flame radiating from it signifying Christ’s heart radiating love for all mankind.

The gold band is the golden pathway through which we trace our life of love and compassion in all situations, we must not forget the path of selfless service and love for the poor.

The three roses represent various humanitarian services which the congregationof the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary render to build up human communities: Teaching, Nursing and Social work are the three major works of the Congregation.

The Lily surrounded by twelve stars symbolizes Mother Mary. The Mother of Jesus reminds us of our life as Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary. Lily also signifies the purity of our life.
