The College website acts as an information centre presenting an overview of the college including the courses and programmes,
facilities, research projects, schemes, awards and achievements, annual newsletter, NAAC & NIRF information, publication of
selection lists and results etc. Events and activities with all important notices are displayed regularly. The website also
hosts the links to the official social media pages of the College on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. The official
YouTube page of the College hosts ICT-enabled classes and co-curricular activities conducted by the teachers.
- ONLINE ADMISSION PORTAL
An open and transparent strategy for the admission process is followed which is further strengthened by the ethical practices and regulations as opined by the Ranchi University. The College brings out its application form which is displayed on the website that has guidelines for the admission process. An Admission Portal with online payment gateway linked to the College Website is used to manage the admission process. Students are required to visit this LINK for online registration and submission of Online Application Form for the purpose of taking admission to the college.
- STUDENTS’ SUPPORT CENTRE & UTILITY CENTRE
A Support and Utility centre in the college premises aids the students with printing facilities, online admission, registration, and examination form fill-up and submission process regularly.
- HOSTEL
Nirmala College has a three-storeyed hostel located in the campus with 03 wings and a capacity of 450 students. Accommodation is limited for eligible students only.

- Wi-Fi ENABLED CLASSROOMS
The academic building of the College comprises well-ventilated and well-furnished spacious 29 Wi-Fi enabled classrooms, which includes 02 smart classrooms with LCD Projectors and smart boards and 02 classrooms with LCD projectors to facilitate blended mode of teaching-learning. The academic building has internet facility and most of the departments have laptops and projectors for carrying out ICT-enabled classes to ensure a student-centric pedagogy.
- LABORATORIES
The College has 04 ICT-enabled laboratories for Science (Botany, Chemistry, Physics and Zoology), 03 for Arts (Geography, Psychology and Home Science), 02 for Computer Science and 01 for Information Technology with internet connectivity, LCD projectors, desktop PCs and printer facilities. 01 GIS-Remote Sensing Lab & 01 Language Lab has also been set up under UGC-CPE Scheme. All the laboratories have adequate instrumentation and consumables to meet the needs of the existing UG and PG curriculum and are regularly upgraded to accommodate the dynamic curriculum of higher education system. Provisions have been made for remote access to simulations-based experiments of Virtual Lab via VLAB under MHRD NMEICT Project to enhance the learning experience of students.
- AUDITORIUM
The multipurpose College auditorium with an area of 800 sq. metres equipped with good quality sound system and lighting equipment and having a seating capacity of about 1000 is regularly used to host extra-curricular activities like cultural programmes, activities of national and international importance like Yoga Day, National Youth Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Christmas Gathering, etc. The auditorium has hosted Inter-College Youth Festival of Ranchi University several times. The ICT-enabled auditorium is now regularly used to organize faculty development programmes, seminars, conferences, workshops, and extra-curricular activities for the skill development of students in blended mode.
- SEMINAR HALL
The College has an ICT-enabled Seminar Hall with a seating capacity of 100 which regularly hosts staff meetings, faculty enrichment programmes and extra-curricular activities for skill development of students in blended mode.
- LIBRARY
The College has an automated library enriched with more than 35000 books, considerable number of journals, periodicals, newspapers, an e-library browsing centre with Wi-Fi for free access to e-journals and e-books under INFLIBNET e-ShodhSindhu N-LIST and provides access to other digital initiatives under MoE to promote advance learning and research. The College library also has a reprography machine to provide copies of study materials to students and faculty at a low price.
The College Library has 3 sections:
- General Library: It comprises textbooks and reference books on all the subjects being taught in the college as well as other reading materials of general interest to the students and faculty. Some important daily newspapers and magazines in Hindi and English are also regularly subscribed.
- Reading Room: The College library has 02 spacious and well-ventilated reading rooms with a seating capacity of 150. Students and faculty members utilize this area daily during their leisure periods for self-study.
- Sr. Priscilla e-library browsing centre:
The e-library is a section of the main library. The centre established under UGC-CPE scheme and inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, RU, is an initiative by the college administration to promote research and innovation. The centre provides access to digital learning resources for both faculty and students. Digital repositories have been compiled for common access and to propagate the usage of ICT initiatives of MoE, Govt. of India in higher education.

- REMEDIAL & TUTORIAL CLASSES
The College makes provision for remedial and tutorial classes for slow learners in the timetable. Each department identifies such students through continuous assessment and conducts these classes as specified.
- EDUCATIONAL TOURS/ FIELD TRIPS
Academic tours and trips form an integral part of the curriculum to facilitate an experiential learning environment for the students and is organized and managed by the respective departments of the college.
- CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
All activities - athletics, cultural and social which may be directly or indirectly identified with the college are subject to the explicit and definite approval of the Principal of the college. Approved activities are normally conducted under the auspices of the various Committees and Departments of the college. Students are encouraged to participate actively in programmes, and functions conducted by these societies as such activities contribute much towards the all-round development of a student.
- SPORTS/ SELF-DEFENCE
Under the Sports for development programme, the college provides karate and netball training to interested students in the playground with an area of 10100 sq. metres. Students may also avail other indoor and outdoor game facilities like Chess, ludo, uno, carom, badminton, hockey, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc. for recreation, practice, and participation in national level events.
- NATIONAL CADET CORPS (N.C.C.)
College has an open N.C.C. unit with Jharkhand Air Squadron, coordinated by a Caretaker Officer (CTO) aimed at creating a pool of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth imbued with Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service for the Nation. Students of all departments are encouraged to join the N.C.C. unit. Selection of cadets is done through an entrance exam. N.C.C. Trainings are held on holidays and Sundays.
- NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (N.S.S.)
College has three N.S.S. units coordinated by programme officers and comprises student volunteers who perform community service through extension/outreach programmes under this scheme. Students of all departments are encouraged to join the N.S.S. to serve the community voluntarily.

- CAREER COUNSELLING & PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE
The career counselling and placement cell of the college organizes various career counselling programmes in association with various experts and organizations, round the year to motivate and guide the students in choosing an appropriate career and to understand & develop the skills necessary for employability in concerned sectors. Under the EXCEL Programme by TISS and in collaboration with other employability partners from the industrial sector, the college has organised in and off-campus placement drives/ career conclaves to facilitate placement of the students. Our students are recruited every year by reputed companies like Indigo airlines, TCS, Concentrix, IBM, Banking sector etc.
- MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
College has a health room with first-aid facilities to cater to the students/staff who need medical help. The College has also arranged weekly visits by lady doctor keeping health and wellness of students in the list of priorities.
- BARRIER-FREE ENVIRONMENT FOR DIVYANGJAN
The multistoried college building has a provision of ramp, wheelchairs, special sanitary facilities etc. for the convenience of the Divyangjan.
- INTERNET FACILITIES
The academic building of the college provides access to internet services through Wired and Wireless LAN. Provision for access of internet facility for students have been made in the computer and IT labs and e-library browsing centre, while faculty have user accounts for internet access within the campus.
- STUDENT AID FUND
Student Aid Fund provides aid to needy students who do not receive aid from any other source. This is subject to availability of funds.
- FREESHIP, FEE CONCESSION & SCHOLARSHIPS
Application for Scholarship from students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class, and Low-Income Group is forwarded to the concerned authorities for sanction. Deserving students may also be recommended for merit scholarships to the authorities and donors of student aid. Eligible students may contact the College Main Office for more details.
- AICUF & CLC
AICUF stands for All Indian Catholic University Federation. It strives to train leaders, create awareness about rights and duties towards society and become men and women for others. The National Centre is in Chennai. Its membership is open to all.
CLC stands for Christian Living Community. Its membership is open to all Christian students to help them in their faith formation.
- COLLEGE CANTEEN
The College Canteen is open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all working days and remains closed during holidays. The canteen serves hygienic & tasty cuisine at subsidized rates. Food quality is monitored and supervised regularly.
- BANK & ATM FACILITIES
An all-women’s branch of Punjab National Branch, the Akshaya Branch, with an adjoined ATM caters to the staff and students of the College.
- SAFE DRINKING WATER
Water purifier installed in the college building ensures provision of safe drinking water for the college staff and students.
- UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY
Heavy-duty soundless generators installed in the college campus ensures uninterrupted power supply during the working hours.
- SANITARY NAPKIN VENDING MACHINE
For the convenience of students, a self-service vending machine has been installed in the college building from where sanitary napkins may be purchased.
- SANITARY NAPKIN INCINERATOR
An incinerator installed in the toilets ensures green and clean disposal of sanitary wastes.
- SAFE AND SECURED CAMPUS
All key locations of the College are under CCTV surveillance with 30 cameras monitored on dedicated computer system installed at the Principal’s office, GB Secretary’s, and Hostel Superintendent’s office and Library. Security guards are also deputed at both gates to ensure safety and security of staff and students.
