Establishedin the year 1969, the department of economics has made steady progress. Besidesthe UG programme, the department has a PG programme which was initiated in theyear 2016.

Thedepartment has well ventilated classrooms, and a departmental library with over100 books.The teachers take special care to encourage the advance students andthe slow learners according to their needs. The students are guided to helpthem in further progression to management institutes, PG courses and research.The students also find placement in banking, and teaching profession.

Duringthe covid pandemic, teachers continued the online teaching through, googlemeet, Teachmint, YouTube and other online mediums. The special papers taught bythem are – Mathematical Economics, Agriculture, Demography, and, laboureconomics.
