Departmentof Information Technology came into being in2009.Since it’s inception theDepartment has been providing education in the field of B.Sc. IT,leading studentsto take the best advantage of the Vocational course in the corporate sector aswell as other allied occupation. The Department has a Coordinator and otherqualified and dedicated faculty members who mentor students on academic as wellas corporate grounds. The Department is provided with a lab with 25 systemsthat help the students to perform their practical.The room has a projector thatis used for teaching through the ICT method. An air conditioner and power backup is provided for the proper running of the Department. A small staff room isattached to the practical lab to facilitate teachers for conducting exams andother official work of the Department. A notice board is provided at theentrance which is organised by students on different aspects of IT and otherclassroom information. Students post you tube videos related to prospects andcareers in IT. The Department arranges Orientation Programme for Intermediatestudentsofthe college to make them aware of the avenues and importance of studying InformationTechnology.Thestudents take up Projects in Industries and Companies like SAIL, MECCON, JAP-IT,BSNLetc. in order to develop their core capabilities of software development skills.Seminars,Extensionactivities, Workshop are conducted to mentor the analytical and learningability of students.A spoke tutorial programme (STP) is also run for the students.The students are well placed in various renowned companies like Infosys, TechMahindra,WIPRO,TCS etc.through Campus selection. Students are also guided bythe career counseling programme of the college.
